Marcus is a Veteran Marine who came to us in a serious time of need.
Here's the situation...
Just months away from graduating with his Bachelor's degree, his college had just permanently closed its doors without notice.
To add to that, his hard-earned GI Bill funding to pay his tuition was expiring soon.
If that wasn’t bad enough, other schools were not able to accept most of his transfer credits either.
In fact, one school said he'd basically have to start over and pay for it out of his own pocket.
Marcus found himself in a really tough spot…
Nevermind the fact that he’d done everything right and the situation he was now facing was no fault of his own.
How could someone who served our country to protect our freedoms be treated like this? This certainly isn’t the honor that he deserves.
“Surely, we can do better. This is what we do.” I said.
So as a University that’s helped thousands of veterans over the years, we immediately got to work to see what we could do for him.
So how did things turn out for Marcus?
Here’s his latest update...
“It was at this time I found ABTU and had inquired with the excellent staff. They were able to help me immensely, from submitting my GI Bill documentation, to getting a free transfer credit evaluation done within a short amount of time. It was very easy for me to make the decision to go through with ABTU, let me just say, after all that I’ll still be graduating on schedule. I'm glad I made the choice to go with ABTU.”
So why am I sharing this story?
We all have things we can do to honor our men and women who’ve served our country.
Whether it be a kind gesture, a sincere thanks, or going the extra mile to make sure they are taken care of. We can all do something.
Some of us are even put into unique positions where we can do even more to make sure they know we appreciate them. And that's why we are committed to helping Veterans and our military in the ways we know best.
ABTU's Commitment to Our Military, Their Families and Zero Debt Education
We as a university and as a family are forever grateful and indebted to United States military servicemen and women. As such, we make it one of our chief aims as a University to provide affordable and flexible higher education opportunities for EVERYONE, including those who have served, are currently serving, as well as their families.
